1926 – 2026 Centenary Celebrations
In 1926, our visionary founders fought for the future of England’s countryside. We continue to uphold this vision and next year will celebrate our Centenary.
Our centenary will mark 100 years of championing the English countryside, from National Parks and the Green Belt, to dark skies and local planning. Hopefully it will provide an opportunity, not only to commemorate the last 100 years of protecting the countryside, but also to engage the public and create a stronger future for CPRE.
During the Centenary year a number of events are planned, including the following:
- January – CPRE Centenary Book launched and Domesday Digital Mapping Tool.
- May – Chelsea Flower Show CPRE garden
- June – CPRE National Awards
- July – Exhibition of Rural Life
- September – Countryside Day/Weekend
- October – Centenary Celebration Event
- November – Hedgerow Celebration
CPRE Northern Lincolnshire will be organising our own celebration centenary event at some point in 2026, and we welcome ideas from our members. If you have an idea for an event(s) please contact our Secretary Mary Allen.
